André de Vries is a young artist with a unique talent and mind who grew up in the Free State, but his heart is simply at the water of the ocean. De Vries's work shows that he is passionate about the ocean and marine life, especially sharks and for that reason, most artworks include some elements of the sea. "Blue Planet" is his escape from reality.
De Vries's interests do not stop there, he loves nature as well. His artworks are not only about marine life and sharks, but he adds a nature twist to his work. With these nature and ocean-themed artworks, he tackles sensitive teenager and childhood problems, struggles, trauma, and issues. De Vries hides his pain with beauty. In every small detail, there are objects that have personal meaning to him.
De Vries grew up in a normal household, but everything soon turned. De Vries realised his skills and capabilities at a young age and knew that this was going to get serious. His subjects include art and dramatic art at Jim Fouché High School. De Vries is not afraid to push the limits. In his eyes, there are no limits, only struggles.
